Incontinence

What Is Incontinence?

Incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine (and sometimes stool). It can show up in different ways, including:

  • Leaking when you laugh, cough, sneeze, or exercise (stress incontinence)

  • Feeling a sudden, strong urge to go and not making it in time (urge incontinence)

  • Going to the bathroom “just in case” or waking frequently at night

  • Leaking during pregnancy or postpartum recovery

  • Ongoing bladder control issues after menopause, prostate surgery, or pelvic trauma

These symptoms are your body’s way of asking for support, not a sign of weakness or failure.

How We Treat It

Our approach is gentle, personalized, and rooted in whole-body care. During your evaluation, we’ll take time to understand your unique symptoms, habits, and goals and then create a plan that fits your life.

Treatment may include:

  • Pelvic floor muscle retraining: Learning to both strengthen and relax the pelvic floor for better control and coordination

  • Bladder retraining and urge suppression techniques: Rebuilding healthy bladder habits and restoring normal signaling between your brain and bladder

  • Manual therapy: Releasing tension, scar tissue, or restrictions that affect pelvic function

  • Breath and core connection: Teaching how posture, breath, and core engagement support the pelvic floor

  • Lifestyle and behavioral strategies: Addressing triggers like fluid intake, constipation, or movement patterns

We’ll move at your pace with education, encouragement, and ongoing support every step of the way.

Your Path to Confidence

You deserve to feel strong, dry, and in control again. Incontinence doesn’t have to define your days or limit what you love doing. Let’s get to the root cause together so you can rise confidently in your body again!

It’s estimated that 60% or more of women will experience urinary leakage in their lifetime. Leaking urine when you laugh, cough, exercise, or even just get the urge to go isn’t something you have to live with. While incontinence is clearly SO common, it’s not normal - and it’s absolutely treatable. Our goal at Uprise Pelvic Health is to help you understand why it’s happening and guide you toward lasting relief through compassionate, personalized care.
